FitKids
Fit Kids is a multi-faceted training regime designed around the specific neurological, cognitive, coordination and motor developmental needs of growing kids and young adults. It is not simply a scaled down version of Forged Fitness it is Forged Fitness for kids.
FitKids rolls in the principals of strength and conditioning programs used by aspiring young athletes and by primary P.E. programs for many home and charter schools. These principals benefit athletes in various fields including (but not limited to) martial arts, track & field, baseball, hockey, soccer, tennis and football.
Schools and parents strive to implement healthy life styles for their kids. A healthy life style (especially when introduced early to a child) results in a life long love of working out and eating healthy. This avoids problem such as childhood obesity caused by inactivity.
Our fitness programs are designed to be fun, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not to focus on specific muscle groups but to address the entire body with its complex set of natural motions (our specialty is not to specialize).
Healthy living requires people and kids to push, pull, run, throw, climb, lift and jump, effectively and safely regardless of whether or not they are involved in competitive athletics. Competitive Athleticism is a specialized pursuit; and, our goal is to benefit and support everyone from the specialist to the generalist by doing a total body work out.
The Fit Kids program is made simple and universal and requires no experience. What is required is commitment from the kids (which we get through fun routines) and to a lesser extent a commitment from the parents (who gain confidence upon attending and seeing their children change into accomplished athletes in a matter of months).
We’ve used our same routines for 4 year olds and elite high school athletes. We scale load and intensity, but we don’t change. The needs of our second graders and our high school wrestler differ by degree not kind.
Fit Kids is a minimalist program. It is economical and designed around natural movements; hence, there is no need for specialized and expensive equipment. In fact we use little or no equipment.
In essence, elite physical fitness is for everyone, across generational gaps and socioeconomic gaps. The key is in the know how and the parallel build-up of cardio, strength and range of motion.
At Forged Fitness we strive to help families achieve their fitness goals while having fun. FitKids is taught in an engaging & friendly way and takes place in a environment conducive to workout for both kids and adults. In fact, many parents take time to work out while their kids are attending our Fitkids class.
